St. Helens is the largest town on the East Coast of Tasmania. Similar to other East Coast towns, St Helens is based around the fishing industry. A deep-sea fishing fleet operates out of St. Helens. St Helens is well known for its quality Crayfish and Oysters.
There are good beaches located near to St. Helens, and there are several good surfing spots along the coast. You can charter boats for marlin and tuna fishing.
The Bay of Fires Coastal Reserve to the north of the town has a natural beauty.
