Pyengana is a small town inland from St. Helens. The two major attractions are the Healey's Cheese Factory and the St. Columba Falls.
There is Backpacker accommodation available at the only hotel. The falls are a 6 km walk.
The Tasmanian Tiger which is believed by most to be extinct, was reportedly seen by a national parks ranger in the Pyengana region in January 1995.
