Oatlands - Tasmania
|
"...Oatlands was estabished during the 1830's and many of the older buildings still remain today..."
|
Oatlands is situated on the banks of Lake Dulverton. Oatlands is roughly half way between Hobart and Launceston.
The two major attractions of Oatlands are its history and fishing. It is an historic town and most of the buildings were built from 1830 sandstone. The courthouse was also built by the convicts. There are walking tours of the town, and ghost tours in the night.
Fishing enthusiasts take to Lake Sorell, north-west of Oatlands, and also Lake Crescent.
