Geeveston - Tasmania

Geeveston has a population of around 800 and is located in the Huon Valley region of southern Tasmania. It is the entrance to the Hartz Mountains National Park .

In the National Park there are various walks through the Arve Valley. There are great picnic spots and lookouts. There are many short and easy walks. Some though are as long as four hour return walks to Hartz Peak. The Tahune Forest Reserve allows fishing, rafting and camping. The world's tallest hardwood trees are located in the park.

In Town of Geeveston, the Forest & Heritage Centre explains the history of the region, and about the animals which live in the nearby forests.

To the North of Geeveston along the Huon River is the Panorama Vineyard. To the east are river cruises at Port Huon, and to the south is a daffodil and bulb farm, some of the varieties sold being unique to the farm.
