Cygnet is a small township in the Huon Valley region. It has a population of around 1000.
Cygnet was originally named "Port de Cygne Noir" (or Black Swan Port), but the name was later changed to the easier English cersion of Cygnet. There are some great beaches providing safe swimming and fishing all around the Cygnet area.
