Coles Bay is frequently used as a launching pad for those wishing to visit the Freycinet National Park. Three pink granite mountains, the Amos, Dove and Mayson form the Hazard Range, a part of the 11,930 ha. park. The most attraction is Wineglass Bay. Wine Glass Bay is possibly the most photographed area in the state.
There are many and varied walks in the National Park. The walk to Wineglass Bay is considered to be a moderately easy walk.
Coles Bay has several accommodation facilities for backpackers and several other accommodation facilities are available. Campsites are also available within the National Park. Coles Bay is a casual one hour drive south of Bicheno.
